RIM Chapter 60 verses 1-7

The Glory of Zion

“Glory” in Hebrew is expressed by Kabod- pronounced – kaw-bode. The noun derives from kabed (v.)   which denotes heaviness (in a physical sense) as well as gravity, weightiness and importance (in a spiritual sense). Thus, the antonym for Kabod expresses lightness and insignificance of a person or thing, i.e. “lack of honor or respect”. Honor and glory are received by God, kings and persons of high status.  To give kabod is tantamount to a confession. (Proverbs 15:33) states, “humility goeth before kabod” just as it is said “pride goeth before the fall.” Glory or  splendor (Kabod), usually refers to God, His sanctuary, His city, or paraphernalia associated with His appearance in His temple  (dynasty; house lineage). In the ancient near-east narratives, glory is embodied in the crown of the deity or hero. In (Job 19:9) we read, “Thou hast stripped me of my kabod and taken the crown from my head.”  In Ezekiel, Kabod is depicted as a phenomenon of radiant splendor that moves, rises and comes near and Ezekiel, himself, describes the kabod as a blazing fire surrounded by radiance and a great cloud. In latter-day Assyria (“unsurpassed financial success and social popularity guaranteed thru Mormonism’s Melchizedek Priesthood Authority”) awe and terrible splendor are connected (attached; joined; fastened; coupled) with the crown (ornamental headdress worn by a monarch as a symbol of authority). The terrifying aspect of God’s glory is especially prominent in the

revelation at Sinai. The people were alarmed at seeing the Kabod of the Lord (Dt. 5:24) and they are afraid of being consumed by the great fire that blazes forth from the Kabod (Dt. 5:25). The people witness the descent of fire and the Lord’s glory from heaven in Exodus and again in (1 Kings 18) when Elijah consecrates the altar on Mt. Carmel.  When fire came down and consumed the sacrificial offerings, the people fell on their faces and cried out, “Yahweh, alone is God”…….which,  by the way,  expresses the very essence of the Hebrew name “Elijah”. The fire of the kabod can be very dangerous. This danger is especially clear in the narratives of Israel in the desert.  Here, the kabod (glory) of God threatens the Israelites if they murmur against Him. On one occasion the “fire of Yahweh,” understood as a manifestation of His kabod,  is kindled against the Israelites and their rebellion (Numbers 11:1) Union with kabod means entrance into God’s possession in “life after death” . It is suggested by some scholars that like Elijah and Enoch individuals who are received into God’s presence immediately need not fall into Sheol.

thick darkness
They grope through thick-darkness. It has dropped down around them preventing them from walking  any further in the religious way (custom; tradition) of Israel’s People

2. Indeed (used to introduce a further and more surprising point), behold the darkness of Salt Lake’s Melchizedek Magicians (wizards; sorcerers) cutting off (disinheriting; disowning; ) the entire non-Mormon (Gentile) population of the world. Thick darkness (an eerie gloom; an evil curse; the darkest powers of hell an evil spell) has  dropped down upon them, preventing them from walking further in the way (custom; tradition; habit) of  Israel’s People (rank and file Mormons). Nevertheless,  upon you (Israel’s people; rank and file Mormons) the light (revelation; illumination) of Jehovah will rise like cheerful rays of morning sunlight and His glory will wrap you in warmth.

3. Further, the Gentiles (nations) will walk with (follow; accompany) you and be directed toward your light (enlightenment; revelation; illumination) while  Kings are guided toward your “morning-light” (millennial-dawn;  scattered rays of the Sun’s light; daybreak).

Israel’s children will be brought home by Gentile foster parents carrying them on their hips and caring for them.

4. lift-up your eyelids and look round about. You can observe all of them (Israel’s People). They are assembling themselves in order to return (rescue; bring back) your sons (children; disciples) unto you, from afar (far-away; oblivion;  obscurity). Your daughters (devotees; “the apples of your eye”; the ones who you cherish most of all) will be carried “upon-their hips”and cared for like little children,  by Israel’s People (rank and file Mormons).

5. From that time forward (at this time; because of that) you will be able to see (perceive; understand; comprehend; realize; apprehend) Me (Jehovah) and  and the real meaning of the word “daylight” (the light of day; sunshine ; sunlight ;light of the Son) then you “heart” (seat of emotions) will throb (palpitate; pulsate; go pitter-patter) and swell (expand; become-filled) with gratitude. Indeed (as a matter of fact; if truth be told), they will turn-over (give something to one in authority, especially because they have ordered you to do so) the West’s (LDS Church headquarters in Salt Lake City) riches (financial assets; resources; possessions; funds; wealth) . The armies (soldiers; armed-forces) of the Gentiles (nations; non-Israelites; non-Mormons) will come to you (“beat a path” to you ; arrive at a your place in great numbers; the image is that so many people will wish to come, that they will wear-down a pathway to your door) to you.

You will be protected in the palm of God’s hand

6. A great multitude (company; host; swarm; mass) of people will yield (produce; raise to maturity) men, authorized (having official permission)  to cover (shield; protect; shelter) you by the “palm of their hand” (bending the enemy’s will to God’s power), which is the measure (model; quality;  excellence; caliber; standard; norm; usual; custom) of this generation of Israel’s People. And all of Salt Lake’s celebrated trafficking (recruitment of persons, by means of coercion, fraud or deception) will languish (wither away) and die. They will return (give-back) to Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons)  their  gold (standard of personal worth) which Salt Lake has stolentake property of another without permission, especially in secret)  along with Israel’s  “whiteness” (symbol of purity; symbol of moral virtue). Salt Lake’s Melchizedek Priesthood Authorities will bear (lift-up) sons and praises.  They will,  for once (on this occasion only, as an exception) bear Jehovah’s good tiding. .

7. All the darkened (gloomy; saddened; depressed; dispirited; troubled; dejected) sheep among the Israel’s flock will gather themselves unto you and Mormon rams (leaders of the Mormon flock ) will minister unto (wait upon; become servants to) this generation of Israel’s People (rank and file Mormons). God, the Father glorifies (adorns; ornaments; arrays; sets to advantage crown) s mortal man as soon as he is found spiritually acceptable (pleasing) as a result of sacrificing his very life unto me and to the House (lineage; family; dynasty) of my glory (renown; fame; prestige; honor; distinction; majesty).
