Reading Isaiah’s Mind Chapter 46 verses 8 – 13

Fine-Twined LInen 70
Fine (considered to be superior; select; choice; first-class) Twinned (interwoven; twisted-together; knit-together; inter-connected by blood or marriage;  tangle-together; intermarried) Linen (the word “linen” is derived from the Latin for flax plant, which is “linum” and the earlier Greek “linon”. The word line or lineage denotes a straight or direct line of genealogical ancestry leading back to the original royal family)  thus a direct genealogical linkage preserving a claim to aristocracy (upper-class; elite class  peerage; nobile-class) within a given society.

8. Remember this…….then  contrast (juxtapose; compare) that image against the facade (pretense; guise; appearance; affectation; illusion; general impression) of Salt Lake’s Melchizedek priesthood Authorities and their Fine-Twined-Linen* (elite  interconnected straight-line (lineage) thru birth or marriage, reaching back to royalty).  Point-to (focus-on; direct everyone’s attention to) the rebels (Salt Lake’s high-priests rising in opposition; Salt Lake’s armed resistance against Jehovah),  as they take Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons)  into their custody (enslavement; captivity; thralldom; subjugation; bondage, enslavement, servitude) against Jehovah’s will (without Jehovah’s consent).

* Fine-Twined-Linen-The deliberate cultivation of the flax plant, from which linen is made,  started between 5,000-4,000 BCE in Fertile Crescent and North Africa. From the very beginning, linen became considered a holy fabric. Flax was cultivated in the Fertile Crescent in 7000 BCE. While the Babylonians were the first to start flax weaving, Egyptians who are famous for linen in the primaeval world. Linen was also used as currency in Egypt. It was considered as a symbol of purity, wealth, and light due to which Egyptian mummies were wrapped in it. A few of these fabrics were woven from manual yarns and seemed to be very fine. However, they are coarse as compared to the present day linen. The word line or lineage denotes a direct  (strait) line of genealogical ancestry leading back to the original royal family, thus a direct genealogical link preserving an aristocracy (upper-class; elite class  peerage; nobile-class) of a society.

 * Linen and status – In the ancient Mesopotamian region, especially Ur and Babylon, linen production was rare, making up roughly 10% of all fabric production. Although it is not difficult to grow linen as it takes only 100 days to mature, it absorbs most soil nutrients. Due to this, the field needs to remain uncultivated for many years post-harvest.  As a result, only the elite members of society such as kings and priests could afford linen.

Don’t forget ( Don’t ignore; don’t turn a blind-eye-to; brush-aside) the first (Old-Testament; foremost; principal; greatest) Patriarch  (biblical figures regarded as fathers of the human race, especially Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, their forefathers, or the sons of Jacob; holders; messengers; carriers; conveyors; agents; emissaries) of authority,  from long-ago (the-distant-past; antiquity; aeons-ago).

pleasures
Salt Lake’s General Priesthood authorities are raised-up (promoted; bred; reared in a specified environment and way; developed; exalted; elevated) to secure (get-hold-of; gain; lock-up; access; obtain)  for themselves, all the pleasures (creature-comforts; amusements; self-indulgences; “joie de vivre”; joy-rides) that the power and authority of leadership of Israel’s people can provide (has to offer; makes-available; can-supply) them.

10. Prophets and Apostles from Salt Lake City who falsely claim to be messengers restoring my authority are, actually (in-fact; if truth be told), “bringing-an-end-to” (abolishing; invalidating; annulling; negating) my authority and projecting (propelling; magnifying; promoting) themselves into positions of Israel’s leadership. This generation of Salt Lake’s priesthood leadership doesn’t produce (bring-forth; generate; utter) commands (declarations; challenges; talks) to reinforce (fortify; strengthen with added support; make more effective) my authority. Salt Lake’s General Priesthood authorities are raised-up (promoted; bred; reared in a specified environment and way; developed; exalted; elevated) to secure (get-hold-of; gain; lock-up; access; obtain)  for themselves, all the pleasures (creature-comforts; amusements; self-indulgences; “joie de vivre”; joy-rides) that leadership power and authority can provide (offer; make-available; supply) to them.

11. Prophets, seers and revelators who are summoning from Salt Lake City are “Birds-of-Prey” (carnivorous vultures that hunt their victims and feed on decaying-flesh). They originate from a far-off (inaccessible; unapproachable; indifferent; stand-offish; remote) kingdom. They are men determined to “make-firm” (reinforce; fortify) their own authority...indeed (if truth be told)….. to exploit (capitalize-on; abuse; misuse; make-the-most-of; walking all over) “My” (Jehovah’s) authority. They listen to each-other instead of paying attention to Me (Jehovah).

Salt Lake’s General Authorities are iron-willed”(aggressive; fierce; severe; unbending; inflexible; hard-nosed; uncompromising; zealous; head-strong;  very resolute) men, implacably determined on their course of action.

12.   Salt Lake’s General Authorities are iron-willed”(implacably determined on a course of action; hard-nosed; very resolute) men pointing (directing the attention of ) Israel’s people  (rank and file Mormons) toward things which are  remote-from  (a “far-cry” from; very different from; unfriendly-to; detached-from; hostile-to; disagreeable-to; antagonistic-toward; set-against) righteousness.

help
My (Jehovah’s) authority doesn’t permit (allow;sanction;  suffer) men to become stand-offish, remote or aloof, but my authority gives official permission to receive “help” (freedom from restrictive circumstances; liberation from trouble).

13. Israel’s birthright  (particular right of possession or privilege had from birth, especially as an eldest child; legal and moral entitlement; birth-right) brings-forth my authority. My authority doesn’t permit (allow; suffer) men to become stand-offish, remote or aloof, but my authority gives official permission to receive “help” (freedom from restrictive circumstances; liberation from trouble)…..Myhelp” (support; guidance; helping-hand) never imposes upon its recipient,  an indefinite  (uncertain; obscure) delay (period of time in which help is late or postponed)  as does Salt Lake’s ‘help”.     I will bestow my glory (honor; majesty) upon Zion (the hill of Jerusalem on which the city of David was built)  for the sake of (for the benefit of) Israel’s people.
