Reading Isaiah’s Mind Chapter 41 verses 22 thru 29

gauntlet
“Throw down the gauntlet” means to Declare or issue a challenge. This expression alludes to the medieval practice of a knight throwing down his  gauntlet, or metal glove, as a challenge to   combat.

22.  Salt Lake’s leaders proudly “throw-down-the-gauntlet” *(issue a challenge).    “Let them come-forward (appear; present themselves) and tell us (Salt Lake’s presiding priesthood Authorities) keeping in mind (considering)  what has come to our generation, while we point (direct-attention) toward our Pioneer-ancestor’s secure (established prearranged; ordained) authority. Salt Lake demands,  “What do Israel’s people have to say…so as to make “our” (Salt Lake’s)  will (wish; desire; preference; intention; inclination) prevails (dominates; controls) and that we (Salt Lake’s priesthood leaders) many know ahead-of-time (early; in advance; beforehand) the final-outcome (consequences; repercussions) of the authority wielded by our generation of Melchizedek priesthood leaders, all of whom  desire (long; lust) for the return of an established (predetermined; prearranged; preset; locked; closed; shut; secure) Authority in order to point (direct; give an official order or authoritative instruction) to Israel’s people toward consenting (submitting; assenting; giving-in) to a continuation (preservation; maintenance; perpetuation) of our  Priesthood leadership”.

*Throw down the gauntlet” –  Today the phrase “throw down the gauntlet” means to challenge or confront someone, but in its earliest use it wasn’t meant as a metaphor, but was a physical action intended to issue a formal challenge to a duel. The word itself comes from the French word “gantelet,” and referred to the heavy, armored gloves worn by medieval knights. In an age when chivalry and personal honor were paramount, throwing a gauntlet at the feet of an enemy or opponent was considered a grave insult that could only be answered with personal combat, and the offended party was expected to “take up the gauntlet” to acknowledge and accept the challenge. Over time, as heavy steel armor became less common, gauntlets referred to any heavy glove with an extended cuff to protect the wrists, and the practice of using gloves to initiate duels continued until dueling was outlawed in Europe and the United States in the late 18th century.

oak tree
Oak Tree – Allon, always rendered “Oak.” Probably the evergreen oak is intended. The oak woods of Bashan are frequently alluded to (Isaiah 2:13; Ezekiel 27:6) . Three species of oaks are found in Palestine, of which the “prickly evergreen oak” is the most abundant. “It covers the rocky hills of Palestine with a dense brushwood of trees from 8 to 12 feet high, branching from the base, thickly covered with small evergreen rigid leaves, and bearing acorns copiously.” The so-called Abraham’s oak at Hebron is of this species. Tristram says that this oak near Hebron “has for several centuries taken the place of the once renowned terebinth which marked the site of Mamre on the other side of the city. The terebinth existed at Mamre in the time of Vespasian, and under it the captive Jews were sold as slaves. It disappeared about A.D. 330, and no tree now marks the grove of Mamre. The present oak is the noblest tree in Southern Palestine, being 23 feet in girth, and the diameter of the foliage, which is unsymmetrical, being about 90 feet.”

23. They are compressing (pressuring; extorting; milking; bleeding) Israel’s people  in order to point (direct their attention) toward having-in-mind (thinking-about ; meditating-about ;  imagining-about ; hoping-about ) holding authority during the hereafter but this generation knows that all of you (everyone)  belonging to Israel’s  lineage or bloodline are “Oak-Trees”, indeed (if truth be told), you (Israel’s people) are Salt Lake’s “good-things” (Goodness; prosperity; wealth; welfare)  and Salt Lake’s General Authorities know that!  So…… this generation of Salt Lake priesthood leadership is completely nonplussed (surprised and confused so much that they are unsure how to react; dismayed; filled with anxiety and distress) and they are altogether (totally; completely; absolutely ; utterly) frightened by your (Israel’s people’s) very presence.

.

*oak tree – This King of Trees was sacred to various European Gods including Zeus, Jupiter, Thor and Jumala. Pliny wrote about the Druids reverence toward this tree, explaining that they gathered for rituals in oak groves, gathering the sacred mistletoe with a golden sickle. Similarly Galatian tribes held assemblies in oak sanctuaries. And it wasn’t simply the tree that has symbolic importance, acorns were used as a divinatory system. Combining all this, the Oak can represent community, religious virtue and foresight.

They call upon my name  (mental and moral qualities distinctive to God; character reputation; authority) and they bring-forth (bring into existence; engender; generate)  prefects  (chief-officers; magistrates; regional-governors; senior students authorized to enforce discipline) just-like themselves to ferment (incite or stir up trouble for)  Salt Lake’s  leadership and they determine (mold-into-shape; form; fashion) many more,  just like themselves. who sweep-away (trample under foot (completely remove) filth (unclean habits and practices that corrupt and defile Israel’s-people; i.e. “Mormon-idolatry”; “Mormon-idol-worship”; “Mormon-hero-worship”).

They were the heroes of old, the men of renown.”             (Genesis 6:1-4).

pressure
Pressure includes persuasion, influence, or intimidation to make someone do something., i.e. coercion; force; compulsion; constraint; duress. Mormonads are typical of the barrage of Propaganda (“Reminders and cautionary tales and images) ” designed to reinforce Salt Lake’s standards and guidelines to their young Mormon-members. They are usually found as one-page posters in the Church’s youth magazine,  New Era. Mormonads usually feature a brief message, scripture reference from the Church’s scriptures, and a photo-illustration or painting supporting it.

26. Prefects are those who  point (focus-attention; direct attention by extending the finger) to compression (pressuring; extortion; shakedown; out-wrestling and exaction) of Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons) by the leading-men (First-Presidency;  prophets and apostles) of Mormonism and this generation of Salt Lake’s Melchizedek priesthood leadership knows (is aware of)  it,  and Mormonism’s local-priesthood-leaders (Bishops;  husbands; Stake Presidents; quorum presidents) micro-manage (bureaucratize; systematize; standardize; regulate) the lifestyle of Israel’s people, in an official capacity, in accordance with (conforming to; in agreement with in line with; in keeping with) Salt Lake’s purposes and  they are the ones who tell Israel’s people that all this micromanagement and conformity to Salt Lake’s guidelines is righteousness (morally right or justifiable; goodness; uprightness) in the eyes of God but indeed, (if truth be told) Mormon High-priests,  who are “nothing” (of no value; worthless; deserving-contempt), are being squeezed (forced by threats, or other unfair means; pressured), indeed not a single  Mormon-High-priest shows interest in obeying (hearkening-to; complying with; listening to; seeking after) Jehovah. indeed, not a single one of Salt Lake’s priesthood Authorities or their local priesthood leaders cares-about (appreciates; respects; values) what all of you (Israel’s people; rank and file Mormons) think within yourselves.

point to the sign
Behold (something remarkable), Israel’s people, who  are looking for Zion are pointing (directing everyone’s attention) to the sign (by which Israel’s people are warned) and to Jerusalem (“teachings of peace and salvation”) and “Good-Tidings”  (Breaking News), that (Jehovah’s strength and power)  produced (caused to happen or come into existence).

27. This generation of Israel’s people looks-for (eagerly-awaits) Zion. Behold (Look and see),Israel’s people, who  are looking for Zion are pointing  (directing everyone’s attention) to the sign (by which Israel’s people are warned) and to Jerusalem (“teachings of peace and salvation”) and “Good-Tidings”  (Breaking News) that I (Jehovah’s strength and powerproduced (caused to happen or come into existence).

28. I looked,  but there is not one who was  showing himself to be (acting like) man (priest with a manly mind; priest with valor; priest with courage) nor among rank and file Mormon priests,  so there is not one single  Mormon-leader (priest or high-priest) who will answer (respond-to) me  when I ask him to turn himself around (repent; turn-about; change his course).

noise definition
Definition of “Babel” -confused noise, typically that made by a great number of number of voices.

29. Behold (observe something remarkable), all Mormon-leaders are fraudulent and vain. They amount to nothing. Their cause is NOT just. Their deeds are worthless. Their holy-anointing and consecrations are nothing but wind (hot-air) and noise (nonsense; spoken or written words that have no meaning or make no sense; rubbish; gibberish; claptrap; balderdash; blarney; “babel”).
