Reading Isaiah’s Mind Chapter 58 verses 1 – 7

True purpose of a “Fast” (voluntary abstinence from food)

full-throated cry
Cry-out with a full-throated shout….don’t hold-back (bridle; suppress; withhold; restrain) yourselves.

1. Cry-out  with a full-throated shout….don’t hold-back (bridle; suppress; withhold; restrain) yourselves.  Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people (Israel’s people) the details about Salt Lake’s rebellion (open resistance to an Jehovah’s established government;  mutiny; revolt; insurrection) and the sins (immoral-acts; transgressions; wrong-doings; crimes) committed  by Jacob’s house (lineage; bloodline; dynasty; family).

led by the hand
Today’s Israelites (rank and file Mormons),  as a kingdom (realm; large aggregate of people united by common culture),  are a generation eager (very much wanting) to be led-by-the-hand (shown-the-way by leaders who go-out-in-front of or beside them) in doing “What Is Right”.

2. You will function (act; serve) as my signs (whistles; evidences; warnings; beacons; “hand-writings-on-the-wall”; heralds; manifestations; warnings)    , day after day  (continually; day-in…day-out; daily. Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons) seek to know my “ways” (course of life; mode of worshipping God; religion). As a Kingdom (realm; large aggregate of people united by common culture), they are a generation eager to be led by the hand (shown-the-way by leaders going-out in front of or beside them)  in doing what is right and they haven’t forsaken the commandments of their God. They seem eager (want very much) for just (upright; fair) judgment (decisions of courts regarding the rights and liabilities of Mormons) to approach (compare-to; approximate; border-on; verge-on; resemble) the judgement of their God.

.

favoritism
You seek (are asking-for; hoping-for) favoritism  (indulgence; partiality; preferential-treatment; injustice; bias; inequity;  approbation) from God while you exploit (benefit unfairly from someone’s work, typically by overworking or underpaying; cash-in-on; take advantage-of) all your servants (workers; rank and file Mormon members).

3. Salt Lake’s people may ask, “Why have we bothered to fast (abstained from food) if you (Jehovah)  don’t see (acknowledge; recognize the quality of) it ? How is it that we (Salt Lake’s leading families) have  humbled ourselves,  but you (Jehovah) won’t acknowledge (accept; recognize the quality of)  it?

 [Jehovah’s-response is]

Behold (see or observe especially something remarkable),  on the days that you fast,  you (Salt Lake’s priesthood leaders) seek (are asking for; hoping-for) favoritism  (indulgence; partiality; preferential-treatment; injustice; bias; inequity;  approbation) from God while you exploit (benefit unfairly, typically by overworking or underpaying; cash-in-on; take-advantage-of) all your servants (workers; rank and file Mormon members).

strike
You fast (abstain from food) for the sake of (in the interest of; out of consideration of)  a controversy (quarrel; dispute; disagreement) and a contest (competition for supremacy) over Israel’s people and for the opportunity to strike (poison; bite forcibly and deliberately) them with your  priesthood authority from Hell (utter-darkness).

4. Behold (see or observe something remarkable and that makes a lasting impression), you (Salt Lake’s preisthood leadership) fast (abstain from food) for the sake of (in the interest of; out of consideration of)  a “Controversy” (quarrel; dispute; disagreement), to suck-out (drain; extract; remove or take out, especially by effort or force) from Israel’s people all that you can while contesting (calling into question; challenging; opposing) Israel’s supremacy. You fast so that you are able to  strike (assault; assail; set-upon; afflict) Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons)  with your Melchizedek Priesthood Authority from Hell (spiritual realm of evil and suffering).

broken reeds
Mormonism’s monthly observance of  “Fast-Sunday” is a day (occasion; particular time; opportunity; 24-hour-period) set-aside,  specifically for Israel’s people (rank and file Mormons) to humble (demean; lower; degrade; abase) themselves in dignity (importance), before Salt Lake’s imperious (overbearing; arrogant; high-handed; domineering) leadership ….Israel’s people bow their heads (tribal-chiefs; leaders based on inheritance) bowed (lowered; hung-down)   like broken (dysfunctional; demoralized; discouraged) Reeds * (Israelites) that are incapable of producing any sound (cry; word; speech-sound; peep;utterance).

5. Is this the sort (manner; nature; character; purpose) of fasting (voluntary abstinence from food) that I have chosen for Israel’s people?….a day (time; opportunity; occasion ), once a month,  for them to demean  (do something that is beneath their  dignity; demoralize; lower; abase) themselves….with their heads (tribal-chiefs; hereditary-leaders) bowed (kowtowed; capitulated; submitted; yielded; performing-service; bent-down; hung-down) before Salt Lake’s imperious (overbearing; arrogant; high-handed;  domineering) priesthood leaders, like broken (dysfunctional; demoralized; discouraged) Reeds * (Israelites).

*Broken-Reeds are characterized as  demoralized ; dysfunctional-persons. (like a useless broken-reed in a reed instrument, i.e. incapable of producing a sound) ….broken reeds are dysfunctional, impaired-people (Israelites; rank and file Mormons) – Healthy “Reeds” are seen as Israelites who work hard. They are  strong-headed and tell it like it is. When healthy  Reeds  know what they want,  they go after it. Reeds are very respectful, but they melt (become soft, tender and loving) to the most important women in their lives. They stand up for themselves and for the people they love. All around a great people to have around.

celebrating
“We are manly Israelite (rank and file Mormon) men, but we’re drunken  (intoxicated; inebriated; captivated; emasculated) by the spirit of Mormonism,  that is served-up to us constantly,  and its detrimental effect upon our courage  (ability to do something that frightens us). As long as we are drunk (captivated; intoxicated) We’re “Scared to Death” (too-frightened) to tell our local priesthood Authorities (Bishops; presiding officers) to stick Salt Lake’s ridiculous-doctrines “where the sun don’t shine”. (“up their asses!”)

6. Is it not the sort (purpose; character; ) of fasting that  I’ve chosen for Israel’s people…. to loose (untie; open; break; unlock) the chains (shackles; confinement; controls; restraints; captivity) of injustice…and to untie (undo; unfasten) Mormonism’s binding (obligatory; irrevocable; unalterable; inescapable; contractual) yoke (servitude; bondage; slavery; oppression) and to set-free (grant freedom to; liberate; free-from-duty) those who are oppressed (subject to harsh and authoritarian treatment) by it, then,  seek-out (searching- for) Salt Lake’s cowardly (worthless; craven; spineless; weak)  Melchizedek priesthood authorities who are desperately trying to  castrate (alter; geld; emasculate) Israel.

empty
Salt Lake’s presiding authorities never share a portion (split) their feast (plentiful supply of wealth and success, especially for the mind or senses) on behalf of (in support of; for the benefit of) those who have “empty-stomachs”* (In Hebrew thought, the stomach is seen as the seat of “life”, thus an empty-stomach is another way of saying “those whose lives are empty”, i.e. “very-bad”).

7. Salt Lake’s presiding authorities never share a portion of (separate into parts) their feast  (plentiful supply of something enjoyable, especially for the mind or senses) on behalf of (in support of; for the benefit of) those who have an  “empty-stomach* (In Hebrew thought, the stomach is seen as the seat of “life”, i.e. “those whose lives are empty”, i.e. “bad” ) or those who are afflicted (oppressed; troubled) wandering-about-them** (seeking after them; enquiring after them). Salt Lake’s counterfeit (simulate; fake; fraudulent; pretended; unreal;  hypocritical. insincere; disingenuous) Priesthood Authority has been is brought (led-into; ushered-into; allowed to enter) Israel’s house (family; lineage; bloodline’ dynasty), consequently you (Israel’s people; rank and file Mormons)  see (experience-first-hand; discern; sense; perceive; recognize) “the crafty-cunning of the Serpent” (trickery; malice-aforethought; conscious intent to cause death or great emotional and/or bodily harm to another;  wily and malicious behavior; wicked-cunning;  treacherous-behavior;  dishonesty; guile) but Salt Lake’s Melchizedek Priesthood Authority is covering-it (protecting-it;  rendering it invisible) and because of (on account of) your “flesh” (human-nature; weaknesses; handicap; inadequacies; creatureliness) you negate (invalidate; cancel; neutralize; countermand) Jehovah’s Eternal Authority.  Salt Lake’s counterfeit (simulate; fake; fraudulent; pretended; unreal;  hypocritical. insincere; disingenuous) Priesthood Authority has been is brought (led-into; ushered-into; allowed to enter) Israel’s house (family; lineage; bloodline’ dynasty), so  you (Israel’s people; rank and file Mormons)  see (experience; discern; perceive; recognize) “the crafty cunning of the serpent” (trickery; malice-aforethought; wily and malicious behavior; wicked cunning;  treacherous, dangerous behavior dishonesty; guile) but the Melchizedek Priesthood Authority is covering-them (protecting-them;  rendering them invisible) and because of (on account of) your “flesh” (weaknesses; handicap; inadequacies; creatureliness) you negate (invalidate; nullify;neutralize; deny; frustrate; contradict ; countermand) Jehovah’s Eternal Authority.

* empty-stomach-Just as the heart is the seat of emotion, the stomach is, according to Hebrew thought, the seat of life. If we think about this we can easily understand why. We must first remember that the Hebrews were nomads who traveled from pasture to pasture with their flocks in search of food and water. This was their primary goal in “life”. If food and water were in plenty, life was good, if it was not, life was very bad.

** wandering about them-used of people who have , as it were, broken God’s yoke but go about unbridled and driven by cares (troubles; worries; concerns) and solicitudes (requests; causes of anxiety)
